The story " The Way up to Heaven" is a suspense story. The suspense was introduced when the story talked about how Mr. Foster would be late. Mrs. Foster had to wait for her husband a lot. She thought that maybe it was done on purpose. Mr. Foster was being mean to make his wife wait for him because he knew that she was always scared to be late. Mrs. Foster would be very upset if the time got to late. Her husband would make her wait. Mrs. Foster was going on a trip and again her husband made her wait. She was so scared she would miss the plane. After the plane couldn't leave until the next day she had to go home. The next day she leave for the airport again but she have to wait for Mr. Foster again. He said that he forgot the present and had to go to the house to find it. Mrs. Foster was not wanting to miss the plane. She wanted to see her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. She was sick of waiting for Mr. Foster so she decide to go get him. She was at the door but she listen. She listen a long time but never go into the house. She just leave and tell the driver to go. She leave on her trip and have a good time. She come back home after six week and open her door. There is so much mail on the floor. She look around and then make a phone call. She call someone to fix the elevator. She leave Mr. Foster in the elevator to die. She never help him. The only red herring in the story was when Mrs. Foster stood by the door and listened when she was in a hurry to get to the airport. It was confusing because I don't know that she left Mr. Foster to die. There is no justice in this story because it's not right to kill and she left him to dry up and stink so the worms come to eat him.

Murder by Lamb
Using the story, "Lamb To Slaughter" by Roald Dahl - complete a journal entry. Use the example given in your notes and answer the following questions.Is it a mystery or suspense? Journal Entry
It is a very scary story about killing. Mrs. Maloney is going to have a baby. She is six months pregnant. She is waiting for her husband to arrive home from work. They go out to eat on Thursdays. Mr. Maloney comes home from work but is very tired. He is mean to his wife when she asks to do stuff for him. Mr. Maloney tells his wife that he wants a divorce. Mrs. Maloney is shocked and go to make supper. She is very mad. She take the meat and hit him on the head. She kill him. She is very scared for her baby so she goes to the store and pretends to be making supper for her husband. He is dead. She goes home and pretend she found him like that. The police come to the house and a doctor. The police ask her a bunch of questions. Mrs. Moloney wants to stay at home and not go somwhere else. She is nice to the policeman and the police ask lots of questions. She tells the policeman to eat the meat in the oven. It is ready to eat and she don't want to eat it. The police are in the kitchen eating and Mrs. Moloney is very happy that the police eat the evidence.
This story is a suspense. It is a suspense because we know Mrs. Moloney killed her husband but it is suspense to see if the police can figure out that it was Mrs. Moloney that killed him with the leg of lamb.
The suspense is introduced when she walked up behind him and without any pause she swung the big frozen leg of lamb in the air and brought it down as hard as she could on the back of his head.
It is resolved when the police are in the kitchen eating the lamb. It was the murder weapon but now it is gone because they ate it. Mrs. Moloney is happy and is keeping her baby safe.
There were no red herrings. I know that Mrs. Moloney is the killer.
This story is not poetic justice. Mr. Moloney should not have been killed. Mrs. Moloney should not have killed her husband just because he didn't love her anymore. She should go to jail because she killed him.
